The 2002 has been an immense joy to drive andto own. History: this car has only had 2 owners, both college professors. Itspent the last 17 years in tucson arizona, before that tulsa, oklahoma anduniversity of iowa. The odometer shows 44 thousand miles but since i am not theoriginal owner i can not guarantee that it is correct. The pictures donot do it justice... The paint is show quality except in a few spots where it isboils. Please message me for a full album of pictures. The chrome trim on thecar is excellent all around and the bumpers are also pristine. The interior isoriginal and looks brand new. The seats have no rips or tears and are very firm. It is amazing how well they have held up for being 43 years old. All originalglass and all of the windows/vent windows work. Dealer ac - iwas told the ac compressor leaks. Engine:the engine is fuel injected like allbmw 2002 tii’s. The inside of the engine compartment is incredibly detailed. It has all the factory stickers in place and the engine is show quality and isin excellent running condition. The powertrain is original and has been recentlyserviced. The water pump and starter have recently been replaced. Original 4speed transmission. The throw out bearing is noisy but drives amazing. This is a 2014 so the maintenance warranty is fully transferable (full bumper to bumper until 04/2018), and the car just received its maintenance for the year. It has only been serviced at bmw since new, all records are attached to its carfax/bmw records. Car is weekend driven only, and garaged full time (never driven when raining). Paint is in superb condition with only minor rock chips from highway driving, most have been touched up with oem paint. Front passenger wheel has some light scratches that have been touched up as well. Tires and brakes are above 50% wear and the brakes if needed will be done for free at bmw. I bought this car and did notrealize how nice it was until i had a chance to really look it over.. The engineand trans has been removed and needs rebuilding as such it is in pieces boxed. Iwas told that the head has a crack in it and needs to be replaced. The bores onthe block look great and the crank shaft looks good. All the pieces are includedwith nuts and bolts. Based on what i have seen... There is not even a hint ofrust anywhere on this car. The body has a few minor dents and ding that anexperienced hammer and dolly guy could make short work of . The paint looksoriginal as all the scratches show dark red primer and then bare metal. I havereally looked the car over and will guarantee no rust or repairs other than thebattery tray, which is not really bad. I did not realize how rare this car is... It is one of 1004 automatic cars built for north america with the sealed beamheadlights. The interior is very original. Seats are excellent and theoriginal carpet mats are in the trunk... The glass is excellent has seem better days but it looks original . I have theoriginal wheels & hubcaps, the original jack (which is really cool).
