Chevrolet had long known they did not have a credible offering in the subcompact segment. Enter the Chevrolet Aveo to solve that problem. In 2006 Chevy's pint-sized Aveo got standard side airbags, dual-stage front airbags, and longer-length rear seatbelts. This engine provides decent power especially with the manual five-speed transmission in this car. The Aveo handles better than most cars in this class. Features include Air conditioning (with air filtration), an MP3-capable audio. The previous owner added some alloy wheels. This car has been well maintained and drives out fine. Fuel mileage estimate is 35 mpg on the highway with the manual gearbox. Safety features are the several airbags listed above. In federal crash tests, the Aveo earned a five-star rating (the best possible) for its protection of front occupants in frontal impacts. There are a few thoughtful features for a car in this price range. The Chevrolet Aveo provides better overall vehicle dynamics than most of its competitors at the time. The steering is direct, the suspension well-tuned and the engine is adequate for day-to-day commuting. In fact, it is fun to drive and the Summer Yellow paint highlights that.
